Customer uses LinkPlanner, Pathloss, Radio Mobile, EDX, AirLink or another tool to model the path
Customer advises its minimum antenna size for the uptime required
Antennas must meet minimum performance requirements per PIB 38
This typically means 0.9 or 1.2 meter antennas for lower bands
Customer advises maximum antenna size acceptable (per end)
Customer checks line of sight in person to confirm path is viable
Customer supplies Telco2 a pair of endpoint coordinates in WGS84 decimal degree format
(from Google Earth is fine)
Four or five decimal point precision is adequate for coordinates - more is not useful.
Customer supplies height above ground level of antennas at each end
If supplied endpoints don't have existing identifiers in the RSM database, customer supplies names for them & Telco2 enters them into the register
Telco2 will check the path against existing licenses & will find an interference-free channel
Telco2 will enter any necessary details into the register & will certify the license
Telco2 will supply a KML file showing the path and any potentially impacted nearby services, unless those services have suppressed licenses (for example police or military)
Telco2 invoice $500 + GST per licence pair, with payment due 20th of the following month (credit cards accepted too)
Customer will accept the license and pay their RSM fees in order to activate the license.
For projects of five or more links, Telco2 will charge $185 per hour and will invoice the lesser of the hours worked or $500/linkCustomers with significant volume are assigned permanent discounts after 10, 20, and 30 links.
