Tata's TGN-Pacific started life as Tyco's Transpacific Cable, an attempt by a cable-laying company to build a global telecommunications network. At launch, the cable was intended to connect Los Angeles, Oregon, Tokyo, Guam, and Hawaii in a ring topology. Due to financial difficulties and the inability to secure permission to land a cable in Hawaii, the project was re-configured as a trans-Pacific ring between Oregon & Japan, with spur cables reaching south to Los Angeles and Guam.

Lands at:

  • Emi, Chiba, Japan
  • Hillsboro, Oregon, USA
  • Los Angeles, California, USA
  • Piti, Guam, USA
  • Toyohashi, Aichi, Japan
