That changed significantly with the arrival of the Hawaiki Cable in American Samoa, and the Tui Samoa Cable in Apia. These two cables offer diverse high-speed routes for Samoan carriers to access the global Internet. A third cable project, Manatua, stands to add additional redundancy, linking Samoa to Tahiti (then Hawaii) via the Cook Islands.
