Tonga
All four of Tonga's main island groups have mobile coverage from incumbent Tonga Communications Corporation and regional competitor Digicel. Tongatapu has a wide range of services including fixed telephone lines, Fibre to the Premises, ADSL2+, fixed wireless, and 4g mobile services. Islands outside the capital have a more limited set of broadband services.
The Tonga Cable Corporation was established in 2013 to operate a the Tonga-Suva cable. It acts as a neutral party in operating the cable, and provides equal access to customers including Tonga Communications Corporation, Digicel Tonga, and University of the South Pacific. TCC finished the Tonga-Suva link with funding to spare in 2013. That funding was applied to a domestic cable project (TDCE) linking Tonga's northern islands in 2018.
An outage of the Tonga-Suva cable in early 2019 caused Tonga to acquire long-term backup capacity via satellite. Their main provider is Speedcast.
Tonga Cable operates the TongaIX Internet Exchange in Tongatapu.
