Tonga Suva Cable
Tonga-Suva, or The Tonga Cable, is an 827 km long cable connecting the two countries' capital cities. It's owned by an operations company that the government & both local telcos have invested in. The project was begun in 2010 with support from the ADB. In December 2011 the project agreed with Fiji's Fintel to land the cable at their existing cable landing station in Suva. The cable was built in 2013 by Alcatel-Lucent Submarine Networks. It was complete and in-service by Q3 2013.
