HANTRU-1

HANTRU-1

Also called the Kwajalein Cable System, Hantru-1 was built by Tyco Telecommunications for Hannon Armstrong KCS Funding LLC and commissioned in 2010. The cable's main customer is the US military, but it's also used by MINTA and FSMTC for civilian communications. It's 2,887 km long and has separate pairs of fibre dedicated to military and civilian use. Civilian carriers use a Ciena SONET Network system, providing them with Gigabit Ethernet, DS1, and E1 carriers.
