The Australia Singapore Cable (ASC) is a 4,600 cable between Perth and Singapore, with spur links to Christmas Island and Jakarta. This private cable is owned by Australia's Vocus group. It's initial design speed was 40 Tbps, but the cable was increased to 60 Tbps within ten months of launch. The cable entered service in September 2018 - ahead of schedule in response to an outage of the SMW-3 cable.
