Yap Cable
Yap Cable
The Yap Cable is a 280 km branch off the SEA-US cable to the island of Yap in the Federated States of Micronesia. The cable was built by NEC at the same time as the Palau Cable. It's owned and operated by the FSM Telecommunications Cable company, an open access provider separate from FSM's incumbent telco. Capacity on SEA-US between the local branching unit and Guam is sourced from Telin-Indonesia. The cable was funded in part by a grant from the World Bank.
