NEXT

The Southern Cross NEXT cable will connect Australia and New Zealand to the US, with branch units to Fiji, Kiribati and Tokelau. The US $350m project will be completed by 2021 by Alcatel and owned and operated by Southern Cross Cable Networks, a consortium of Spark New Zealand, Singtel, and Verizon that was joined by Telstra in December 2018. It will be the lowest latency connection from New Zealand to the US West Coast.
